Finally, someone is bringing the Civil Rights movement back to it’s white, conservative roots.

On August 28, 2010, Glenn Beck, and the rest of his loyal tea party followers will meet on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to begin a 100 year long process, to be known as The Plan.  The date of this rally, falls on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legendary “I Have A Dream” speech, and will take place in the same area.  Beck’s goal is to continue where Martin Luther King left off, to carry on his beliefs and to carry on the beliefs of our founders.

To my understanding, “The Plan” is essentially a process to remove bipartisanship in politics, and to me, sounds like an elaborate scheme to remove the two party system of The United States.  ”We need to think like China,” Beck is quoted as saying.  China?  I’m not even going to provide any commentary on that, except this:  China is communist, and you [Beck] complain of Obama moving towards socialism.  I realize that communism and socialism are not the same by any means, but in my opinion, it seems rather contradictory.  Although, I do believe China is far more progressive and developmental in their thinking than the U.S., and let’s face it, they have much better food.

Beck is becoming an egotistic, conservative, demagogue.  Tea Party members must realize how much money Beck is going to make off of this so called “Plan.”  Has it not dawned on them that maybe providing the correct solution for the problems that face our country today may not be the only think he is concerned about?  Although, I don’t believe he is in it solely for the money, that must play a small part in it.

I honestly believe that by dividing the Republican party, Beck and the tea party movement will weaken its strength.  Division among a group does not lead to strength, it leads to disorganization, and chaos.

The beauty of The United States political system is our ability to “agree to disagree.”  Although I do believe we need to move away from such extreme bipartisanship.  I do not believe we need to completely remove any sort of political party.  Politics would not be politics without atleast some form of disagreement.

Regardless of your political beliefs, I must admit that Beck is somewhat of a genius.  He has a wonderful ability to garner attention.  It is a brilliant plan, that will ensure the relevance of the Tea Party movement and himself for many years to come.  Regardless, it is a lot to digest, and in some ways, quite upsetting.
